Freelance Web Designer in Berlin fast sites, easy edits

I design and build websites for creators, artists and small businesses: quick to load, good on a phone and easy for you to update. I'm based in Berlin and work in English, German, Russian and Ukrainian, so you deal with one person from first sketch to launch.

Websites

Fast, easy to update yourself and multilingual if you need it.

  • Website with CMS Astro + Sanity: fast and easy to edit.
  • Relaunch A fresh look without losing rankings.
  • Landing pages One page, one goal: enquiries, bookings, sign-ups or sales.
  • Performance & Core Web Vitals A faster site and better rankings.
  • Forms, bookings & shop Contact, booking and sign-up forms, ticketing or shop integration – whatever your business needs.
  • Multilingual (optional) Clean language versions that visitors and search engines get right.
  • Website check: tech & UX You’ll know what slows you down and what to fix first.

Websites for creators, freelancers & small businesses

People land on your site after seeing you on YouTube, Instagram or on stage. Within seconds they need to know who you are and what to do next: get in touch, book, buy or sign up.

  • Portfolio and personal brand sites
  • Sites for artists, shows and projects
  • Websites for freelancers, coaches, studios, shops and small businesses
  • Multilingual setups with proper language versions for search engines

Relaunch & landing pages

Outgrown your current site? In a relaunch I keep what works, rebuild what slows you down and redirect your old URLs, so visitors and search engines can still find their way.

A landing page has one job: enquiries, bookings, sign-ups or sales. I keep it lean, mobile-first and focused on a single next step.

  • Redirect plan for your old URLs
  • Landing pages with a contact, booking or sign-up form
  • Tracking only with consent

Why Astro: fast by default

I build with Astro, which ships ready-made HTML and only loads JavaScript where it's actually needed. That's good for load times and Core Web Vitals, the metrics Google uses to measure page experience.

You manage content in a headless CMS such as Sanity: text, images, case studies, no code involved. Hosting runs on platforms like Netlify, with HTTPS and automatic rebuilds whenever you publish.

Case studies: this website and Counter Culture

dimitriselsky.de is my own showcase: built with Astro, content in Sanity, bilingual in German and English, hosted on Netlify. The text you're reading is edited in the CMS, not in code, and that's exactly how I hand your site over to you.

Then there’s counter-culture.de, the website for my comedy show in Cologne: dates, line-up and ticket links, on mobile and desktop alike.

Website check: speed, tech, usability

Already have a site and want to know what's holding it back? I check load times and Core Web Vitals, mobile layout, keyboard navigation, structure and technical setup. You get a prioritized list with screenshots, and I can implement the fixes if you like.

If search and AI visibility are your main concern, the SEO & AI-search audit is the better place to start.

Three steps to upload.

  1. Briefing

Tell me what the site is for, who it should reach and when you need it. I usually reply within 1–2 business days.

  2. Structure & quote

I propose a page structure, content and features, and send you a custom quote.

  3. Design & build

You see a draft early and give feedback before everything is built. Revision rounds are agreed upfront.

  4. Launch & handover

Domain, hosting, redirects, checks on phone, tablet and desktop, plus a CMS walkthrough. After that, your content is in your hands.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost?

The work depends on the number of pages, languages, features and the material you already have. Before the project starts, you get a binding quote – at an hourly rate well below typical agency rates (small business, no VAT charged). If the website delivers a measurable result agreed in advance, such as more enquiries or bookings, I’d appreciate a fair performance bonus.

How long until my site is live?

That depends on the scope, and a lot on when your content is ready. You'll get a realistic timeline with the quote.

How many revision rounds do I get?

We agree on revision rounds upfront, for both design and build, so you know from the start when you'll see what and when you can change it.

Can I update the content myself?

Yes, that's what the CMS is for. You edit text, images and entries in your browser, and the site updates after you publish. A walkthrough is part of the handover.

Do you work in English?

Yes. I work in English, German, Russian and Ukrainian, and build single- or multilingual sites with separate language versions that search engines can match correctly.

Do you use AI to build sites?

Yes, openly: Claude and Codex help me with code, testing and copy drafts. Structure, design decisions and final approval are mine, and nothing goes live unchecked.

Do you handle the legal notice, privacy policy and cookie banner?

The technical side, yes: I set up the pages, add a consent banner and make sure third-party services only load after consent. The legal texts themselves are a legal matter; get them from a generator or a lawyer. I don't give legal advice.

Do I own the website?

Ideally, domain and hosting are registered in your name, so you stay in control. What you receive in code and files, and which usage rights apply, is set out in writing in the quote. Ongoing updates or extensions are agreed separately.

Tell me what your site needs to do.

A few lines are enough: what it's for, who it's for and by when. You'll get a no-obligation quote, usually within 1–2 business days.

Your next project?

Three fields are enough. You’ll get a no-obligation quote back, usually within 1–2 business days.
